The autumn edition of the 138th Canton Fair was a special one for our team. This time, we travelled to China with two groups of entrepreneurs. The first group attended the first phase of the exhibition, while the second joined us for the remaining phases. Altogether, it meant nearly a month of business meetings, factory visits, supplier negotiations, and discovering China together.
Although both business trips followed a similar itinerary, each group had different goals, represented different industries, and came with its own expectations. Some participants were looking for new manufacturers, while others wanted to verify existing suppliers or explore new sourcing opportunities for their growing businesses. They all shared one objective – to see everything firsthand and make business decisions based on real experience rather than online meetings or product catalogues.
Over the following weeks, we walked countless exhibition halls, visited manufacturing facilities, negotiated with suppliers, and travelled dozens of kilometres every day between meetings. But a business trip to China is about much more than attending a trade fair. It is also about shared dinners, conversations after a long day, experiencing the local culture, and gaining a deeper understanding of a country we have been working with for many years.
We invite you to join us on a brief journey through our autumn business mission.
Every successful business trip starts long before arriving at the airport. Weeks before departure, we prepare meeting schedules, arrange factory visits, analyse each participant’s business objectives, and coordinate every aspect of the logistics.
Organising two separate groups made this year’s project even more demanding. We had to prepare two independent schedules, match manufacturers to different industries, and carefully plan transportation between the exhibition centre, factories, and business meetings.
Every day had its own schedule. Every hour was carefully planned.
From the very first morning, the exhibition halls were full of energy. Thousands of exhibitors, tens of thousands of visitors, and hundreds of conversations taking place simultaneously created an atmosphere that simply cannot be captured in photographs or video calls.
For many participants, it was their first visit to the Canton Fair. The scale of the exhibition was impressive. Massive exhibition halls, hundreds of product categories, and manufacturers from almost every industry quickly filled even the best-prepared schedules with additional meetings and unexpected opportunities.
The excitement of the first day soon gave way to business.
Business cards filled our pockets, WeChat contacts grew by the hour, and notebooks became packed with information about products, manufacturing capabilities, and potential business partnerships.
Although the primary purpose of our journey was the Canton Fair, supplier meetings, and factory visits, we always make time to experience China beyond business.
Evenings were spent sharing dinners where conversations extended far beyond sourcing, logistics, or manufacturing. Participants exchanged business experiences, discussed new ideas, and simply enjoyed getting to know one another.
We also explored Guangzhou together, discovered local restaurants, sang karaoke, and for many participants experienced everyday life in China for the very first time.
Moments like these transform a business trip into something far more valuable than a schedule full of meetings.
One of the highlights of this year’s programme was a weekend visit to Hong Kong.
After several intensive days at the Canton Fair and numerous factory visits, it was the perfect opportunity to experience a completely different side of the region. From the very first moments, Hong Kong impresses visitors with its skyline, fast-paced lifestyle, and unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures.
We explored the city’s streets, visited its most famous landmarks, admired the spectacular view from Victoria Peak, and enjoyed a slower pace before returning to another busy week of business meetings.
Although Hong Kong is only a few hours away from Guangzhou, the contrast between the two cities is remarkable. For many participants, it became one of the most memorable parts of the entire journey.
There was also time for something completely different.
One day, we headed into the mountains for a white-water rafting adventure. After days spent in exhibition halls, conference rooms, and factories, it was the perfect way to disconnect from business for a few hours.
There was plenty of laughter, a little friendly competition, and, naturally, everyone got wet.
Experiences like these bring people together in a way that formal meetings never can. By the following morning, conversations over breakfast felt very different from those on the first day of the trip.
Sometimes the strongest business relationships begin outside the meeting room.
Every trip to China reveals how quickly the country’s manufacturing sector continues to evolve.
Across many industries, automation is becoming increasingly visible. More manufacturers are investing in advanced production lines, robotics, and AI-driven technologies. The way companies approach international cooperation is changing as well. Chinese manufacturers are better prepared for European markets than ever before, with a stronger understanding of certification requirements, technical documentation, and quality standards.
Conversations are no longer focused solely on price. More and more often, discussions revolve around product development, innovation, and building long-term partnerships.
For companies looking to source products from China, this is encouraging. The market still offers an enormous choice of suppliers, but selecting the right business partner has become far more important than simply finding the lowest price.
After spending several weeks together, it is difficult to say what mattered most. Was it the hundreds of business meetings? The factory visits? The new suppliers? Or perhaps the evening conversations over dinner, where participants exchanged experiences, ideas, and plans for growing their businesses.
Trips like these remind us that successful business is built by people. Trade fairs create opportunities, factory visits provide confidence, but trust develops only when people sit at the same table and get to know each other as partners rather than simply buyers and suppliers.
By the end of the journey, we returned to Poland with hundreds of new contacts, dozens of product samples, and many promising business opportunities.
For some participants, the trip marked the beginning of cooperation with new manufacturers. Others returned with concrete quotations ready for further negotiations and their first purchase orders. Many simply confirmed what experience has taught us for years—that finding the right supplier takes patience, and nothing replaces meeting people face to face.
Every journey brings new experiences, but our mission remains the same: helping businesses make informed decisions and build reliable, long-term partnerships with manufacturers in China.
The 138th Canton Fair is now behind us, but new exhibitions, new factory visits, and new business opportunities are already ahead.
China continues to evolve at an incredible pace. New technologies emerge, industries develop, and global market expectations continue to change. That is why we return to Asia regularly, to stay close to the market and help our clients make confident business decisions.
A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey. We appreciate your trust, your enthusiasm, and the many inspiring conversations we shared along the way.
We look forward to seeing you on one of our future business trips to China.
